In January 2015 I bought my first home. My goal is to pay it off in under 20 years. My preferred goal is 15 years so the house would paid off when I am eligible to retire from my career (at 55) but would be happy with anything under 20 years.

My housemate moved out in early December. After a few small changes to the house I will be looking for a new roommate in 2017.

I also own a small business that I started in 2006. This is a company I would like to run in my retirement (planning for July 2029 at 55).

Hardwood in living/dining and office new carpet in renters room.

Refunds

My tax refunds: 950 federal and 240 state. Just a little under last year and i am glad that i am getting money back and not having to pay at all. It is not much. talked with tax guy about adjusting my with holding but he thinks if i did it i would end up having to pay a little next year because of the raises. so i will keep it the way it is right now.
