Swagbucks Points

June 18th, 2013 at 05:56 am

This past week has been crazy busy at work and I have not had enough time to do the third installment of the car purchase saga and lessons learned that might help other buyers.

But I have been doing the Swag bucks thing for a while now and I wonder, with 5100+ points, is it time to cash them in for something? I need to scan the rewards area and see what is there, but what do you do with your Swag bucks points?

Do you have a favorite reward you choose?

I just generally get the $5 gift card to Amazon for 450 points. I've never made enough points in a month to get more than the allotted five $5 cards from Amazon. I think if I made more than that I'd just cash out to paypal. I immediately but the GC's into my Amazon account because some people have had problems with their codes if they have let them sitting at SB for too long. I am saving mine for Christmas shopping.

Since I'm worried about Amazon taking over the universe, I've switched to Paypal.

You have enough for to redeem towards $50 somewhere. Or you could divide it.

I've done Amazon, Old Navy, Gap, and Barnes & Noble, Starbucks and PayPal. They have switched to basic pricing, except for the $5 AGC's, so I've switched to PayPal. I can do ANYTHING with cash!

I would personally cash out for the 5 $5 Amazon cards, and then save the remainder for July's cards. Then if I made 1500 more points I would cash it out ASAP for a $15 AGC. But I use all my swagbucks for Amazon since that's where I can find the best deals for books for the library. You might want to do Paypal instead since there really is no difference in pricing after the first 5 $5 AGCs each month.

I haven't cashed in points yet, but I plan to do paypal. With some survey sites, though, I will sometimes get Starbucks gift cards if I am trying to save money for going to a professional conference. I can use the gift cards to get beverages or I can use paypal to pay for anything, including a payment on a credit card.

I usually get the Amazon $5 card since it appears to be the best value for the points, and I know I will eventually end up buying something on Amazon anyway. If you prefer cash, you could do Paypal. I have only recently started doing Swagbucks, and did not know until reading these comments that only 5 Amazon cards/month were allotted. That is good to know.
