Qualified for the interview! I finally got the letter from the agency I applied to for the interview! I knew it was coming as I have called and talked to the exam coordinator 6 or 7 times in the past 6 months but it was always “ we hope to send them out in 2 weeks” run around. She finally told me in April that I had qualified they were just trying to find dates for the interviews. This means that either I can get a new job, get a list placement or have a position in my current office reclassified for me to have a job here (my preference). The money is only about 3k more than I make now but the knowing I have a non contract job is the big one! After 6 months (or maybe it is a year) I would pass probation (!) and then I can seriously look for a condo or home to buy. I just can’t do it as a contractor as each year could be my last. I am so excited.

I sat down with some guys from my office and went over the scope etc and they made it really clear to me what I should focus on, strengths or weaknesses to say, work and projects I can mention spearheading that I had forgotten about and the way to word it. This job is among my dream jobs. Something I could do for a long time (as long as I get to do some teaching/training in there too!) So I really want to do well. Even the one area I was afraid I had little experience with they walked me through what I know knowledge wise so I feel better. One quick thing to read, review application and resume type up my notes and I am set.
